Anderson looks for the unique in a setting; something that might force him to “take a step back in order to see it more clearly.” Working in the same manner in the studio surprise is the most invigorating element of his creative process. No model or location is the same and he feels it is up to him to find that “moment,” that epiphany which captures an image that is both timeless and inspiring. He especially enjoys working with women who consider themselves either too old, or not pretty enough to have a portrait done. Too often he has found that belief to be completely untrue.
